Much was expected out of Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar against Atalanta, and he ended up delivering in thrilling fashion. Neymar helped lead PSG’s 2-1 comeback win in the match with five goal-scoring chances created and a late assist.
The most astounding statistic from Neymar’s performance against Atalanta was his 16 dribbles completed, which is a new career-high in his Champions League career. More so, the 16 dribbles completed are the most recorded by any player in any Champions League fixture since the 2009-2010 season.
🤯 Neymar's total of 16 successful dribbles is the most ever recorded in a Champions League game since we obtained Opta data in 2009/10 https://t.co/pe7QsfY4Yz

Neymar was near unstoppable against Atalanta. It became a habit to see him breeze on by Atalanta midfielders and defenders as he patrolled into the final third. More often than not, Atalanta resorted to simply fouling him in order to contain his on-ball movements.
Next up for PSG is a Champions League semifinal encounter against either Atletico Madrid or RB Leipzig. Neymar has history against Atletico Madrid, but he has never faced the German side.
