Kylian Mbappé didn’t suit up for Paris Saint-Germain in their Coupe de la Ligue. The 21-year-old was without a walking boot or anything on his ankle, which is a welcome sign.
With their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal matchup in ten days, many capital club supporters hope that Mbappé will be able to play. A relative of the PSG forward spoke with L’Equipe, and there’s a 90-percent chance that the PSG forward will be playing on August 12th in Lisbon.
The French media outlet reports that the swelling on the ankle has quickly gone done since Mbappé injured it last week in the Coupe de France final against AS Saint-Étienne.
Furthermore, they’re adding that the France international is resuming training this week. This week’s primary focus for Mbappé will be his racing and considering how speed is an essential aspect of his game. It will be interesting to see the injury will limit his velocity, which makes him so dangerous.
If Mbappé can get through his race training, the next phase will be his ball control, which he will work on when the squad heads to Lisbon. The results from these two phases will indicate whether or not the 21-year-old will get the green light to play against Atalanta.
