‘It’s a Really Top Team With a Lot of Speed on the Pitch’ — Bayern Munich Manager Flick on Facing PSG in Champions League Final

The 2020 UEFA Champions League Final between Paris Saint-Germain and FC Bayern Munich is now a day away. On Saturday, the managers from both teams along with several players provided their thoughts on the final during a pre-match press conference.

In his scheduled press conference, Bayern manager Hansi Flick gave updates on his team and, as expected, he talked about the recent preparations made for the upcoming showdown against PSG. Flick also lauded (via RMC Sport) PSG’s well-structured squad.

“It’s a really top team, with a lot of speed on the pitch, players with a lot of experience,” Flick said. “Especially in attack, but also in defense with Thiago Silva. They conceded five goals in the Champions League, so the defense works like the attack. We have a plan, a project, and I hope that tomorrow we will manage to execute it.”

Bayern has imposed its will on opponents in Bundesliga and Champions League play over the past couple of months. Even as his side will face a high-scoring PSG squad, Flick noted that he will stick to his team’s identity for the final.

“We know that there is a lot of speed in Paris, they are a top team with extraordinary players,” Flick said. “It will be a very interesting game. But these last ten months, we still have imposed our philosophy, played attractive football, always pressed very high and that was the guarantee of success. So we don’t want to change much.”

The final is set up to be a classic.
