Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar was arguably the most influential player on the pitch during Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League quarterfinal fixture against Atalanta. He was creating goal-scoring opportunities for teammates and even set up Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting for the game-winning goal. His performance has been lauded by former players and managers.
One active player took it a bit further with his appreciation for Neymar’s performance. Former Tottenham and current Billericay Town midfielder Jamie O’Hara watched Neymar against Atalanta and was just amazed. In an interview with the English-based radio station Talk Sport, he fully backed Neymar and talk about his winning mentality.
“He walks into every Premier League team, he walks into every team in the world,” O’Hara said. “He’s a match-winner, that’s what he does, his talent speaks for itself, he does things no one else can do.”
O’Hara even compared Neymar to current FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi. The Argentine forward is well known for his prowess to single-handedly put teams on his back and carry them to triumph. The former Spurs talent says Neymar is capable of doing just that as well.
“He’s on a level with Messi in terms of his ability,” O’Hara said. “He will win a game on his own.”
Neymar can win more support if he can will his side to the Champions League final later this month.
