Paris Saint-Germain prospect El Chadaille Bitshiabu has become of the most talked-about talents within the team’s youth system. At just 15 years old, he stands at 6’5″ and is a physical defender.
He has caught the attention of many current and former coaches from PSG’s youth academy, including Herve Guegan. The former PSG U19 coach recently took some time to laud the prospect (via Le Parisien) and spoke about his great potential.
“El Chadaille is a very talented player with a lot of qualities who will have a great career,” Guegan said.
Over the team’s recent four friendlies, PSG manager Thomas Tuchel provided playing time to a number of prospects. Among them, Bitshiabu made his unofficial debut for the club in the recent 1-0 win over Sochaux, where he played in 15 minutes of the contest. The likes of Xavi Simons and Edouard Michut also featured in the contest.
Guegan also talked about the mentality that the prospects had during the game and, even as it was just a friendly, it was a key contest in their careers.
“For them, this meeting represents more than an official match,” Guegan said. “It is the first time that they play with the pros, all the staff are there and they know very well that they will be judged. They played while being super focused and motivated.”
Bitshiabu and many of the prospects who played for PSG in the friendlies will now return to featuring in games for their youth sides.
