Former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder and Brazilian international Rai backs the club to advance to the UEFA Champions League final and win it all.
PSG secured a spot in the Champions League semis following the late comeback win against Atalanta in the quarterfinal round. For a team known for not delivering in key Champions League fixtures, PSG pulled through against the Serie A side in dramatic fashion.
After a slow start in the contest, PSG flipped the switch after Kylian Mbappe’s substitution. Along with Neymar, they formed strong on-pitch chemistry and had their way in the final third. Rai was among those watching the contest and in an interview with L’Equipe, he talked about the impact of the two in the game.
“Against Atalanta, Neymar had an exceptional match and Mbappe was decisive when he came into play,” Rai said. “Paris-SG is a great team, with very few gaps, which can above all count on two of the best players in the world. With such a duo, they can take the club to final victory.”
Rai believes that PSG now has what it takes to win the Champions League. With the team’s unity coupled with the talent on the team, Rai is all on board with supporting the club to bring home the prestigious trophy.
“We also feel a certain cohesion and good humor in the group,” Rai said. “I have the impression that PSG are in an ascending phase. In short, everything is in place to go to the end. Now we have to lift the Cup. The players are ready, they have the means.”
The players sure share this mentality as well.
