‘You Couldn’t Ask For Anything More’ – Twitter Reacts to PSG Drawing Atalanta in Champions League

After browsing social media following the UEFA Champions League draw, it’s become clear that Atalanta are the new darlings of everyone who isn’t a Paris Saint-Germain supporter.

The treatment of the upstart Serie A club is approaching Erling Haaland levels. Pundits and opposing fans would love to see PSG crash out of the quarter-finals to a team that has a microscopic budget compared to the French giants and Atalanta could do it.

The Italian club currently sits in third place in Serie A and they’re undefeated in their last seven league matches. They advanced past Valencia to reach the quarter-finals but as good as they’ve been, they haven’t really gone up against an attack like PSG’s.

PSG fans aren’t “sleeping” on Atalanta, but it’s certainly a better draw than having to play FC Barcelona, FC Bayern Munich, or Manchester City. Simply saying that shouldn’t be taken as overlooking Atalanta.

For all the talk of Atalanta as a sneaky pick over PSG because they’re red hot and talented while PSG haven’t had minutes in awhile….don’t forget there are really no potent attacks in Serie A like PSGs, not even close. Atalanta was flattened when they had to play one in City.
