Over the last few weeks, former Paris Saint-Germain forward Jérémy Ménez has opened up about his time in the French capital. Whether it’s talking about his relationship with Zlatan Ibrahimović or talking about current squad players like Kylian Mbappé, the Reggina 1914 forward is more than happy to discuss the Ligue 1 champions.
In an interview with Téléfoot, Ménez shared his thoughts on two former teammates, in particular, Thiago Silva and Marco Verratti. When it comes to Silva, Ménez couldn’t have spoken more highly of the Brazilian defender.
“Thiago Silva is the best defender I have ever played with. In anticipation, in reminders. He’s too strong. I found him too, too strong. He was too strong for me.”
Finally, Ménez recounts training against an 18-year-old Marco Verratti, who arrived from Pescara in 2012.
“He arrived at PSG. He was very young. I saw him evolve. Anyway, even when he arrived at training it was already something.”
"Thiago Silva est le meilleur défenseur avec qui j'ai joué. Dans l'anticipation, dans les relances, il est trop, trop fort" 😳

Silva is expected to leave PSG at the end of August and it’s unclear who his new team will be. Marco Verratti recently signed a contract extension until 2024 and is unlikely to leave PSG any time soon.
