Report: UEFA Will Allow for Clubs to Play New Recruits When Women’s Champions League Resumes

Paris Saint-Germain Féminine has made some moves to improve the squad for the 2020-21 season. However, it appears they’ll be able to insert their recruits sooner and into the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarterfinals, according to Le Parisien

One of the marquee additions this summer was Switzerland international Ramona Bachmann, who arrived from Chelsea FC. The 29-year-old came to the capital club to win trophies and usurp Olympique Lyonnais’ dominance in women’s European football.

Furthermore, UEFA allows players like Bachmann, who has played in Champions League competition with Chelsea, to play in the same tournament for another club.

Europes governing body of football is pointing towards the coronavirus pandemic as reasoning for relaxing this rule. It will benefit PSG as it will allow them to come up with different tactics that includes Bachmann.

Les Parisiennes will take on Arsenal FC with the winner likely moving on to face Lyon in the semifinal.
