Report: PSG Transfer Target Could Be Set to Leave Real Madrid

Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez could be on his way out of the club as soon as this summer, according to a report from the Spanish-based outlet ABC (via Le10Sport). The report mentions that the Colombian talent has a mere one year left on his contract, so club president Florentino Perez would rather prefer to sell him than lose the player on a free transfer next year. Rodriguez would be all on board to leave the club this summer.

Rodriguez is a player who Paris Saint-Germain has been recently keeping tabs on. According to a report from Le10Sport, the Colombian’s agent, Jorge Mendes, offered him to PSG sporting director Leonardo. However, no serious transfer discussions have taken place since the talks between the two.

Rodriguez was far from a regular for the La Liga champions Real Madrid. He made just eight total appearances in the campaign and was not relied as much upon during the team’s 10-game win streak over the second half of the season.

Both Real Madrid and representatives from Rodriguez’s camp have not had any reported discussions surrounding a possible contract extension, so it may seem inevitable that he has already played his final game with the Madrid-based side.
