Report: PSG to Face Ligue 2 Club in Friendly on August 5

An initial report from Le Parisien opened up the possibility of Paris Saint-Germain sneaking in one more friendly before they take on Atalanta BC in their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal matchup.

The French media outlet couldn’t confirm the news nor the potential opponent, but they did indicate that it could probably be a Ligue 2 side.

On Tuesday, France Football followed up on that report by naming FC Sochaux-Montbéliard as the club that could potentially face PSG at the Parc des Prince on August 5th.

Between their Coupe de la Ligue match against Olympique Lyonnais and their quarterfinals matchup against Atalanta, there’s a two-week gap. It doesn’t seem like the club wants to only rely on training to prepare for the Italian club before departing to Lisbon, Portugal.

Although reports are out for this friendly, neither side is confirming the news about a potential match next month. We’ll see what develops over the next few days.
