Report: PSG Remains Interested in Real Madrid Transfer Target

Paris Saint-Germain continues to monitor the situation regarding SS Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to Le10Sport. According to the report, he is viewed as a top priority by club sporting director Leonardo.

Regardless of PSG’s level of interest in the player, it will not be alone in the case where the club seeks to engage in serious transfer discussions. Real Madrid is also vying to create strong competition with PSG for the Serbian talent. At the moment, a high-priced midfielder may not be in Madrid’s plans considering its recent transfer deal of Reinier coupled with the emergent season of Federico Valverde.

There have been no serious transfer talks with representatives from either PSG or Real Madrid and Lazio for the 25-year-old. The Serie A side is still finishing up its last couple of league games, so any such transfer deals may not be a top priority at the moment.

Milinkovic-Savic is known for being a workhorse in the attack and the defense. This season, he has focused more on exerting a keen defensive presence. In league play, he has posted a 22.5 applied pressures attempted per 90 rate, which is up from his 16.0 figure last season. This would bode well for PSG during pressing shifts, as he could assist in the charge to regain back possession.

Talks and rumors should continue to swirl regarding PSG’s interest in Milinkovic- Savic, and it could very well pull off the mega-blockbuster deal.
