Paris Saint-Germain will likely decide to rule out right-back Thilo Kehrer for the Coupe de la Ligue final later this week against Olympique Lyonnais, according to L’Equipe.
Like teammate Kylian Mbappe, Kehrer left the recent Coupe de France final in the first half due to injury. The club later announced that the German talent was dealing with a right hip bone bruise, which sidelined him for four to five days. But according to the report, PSG is leaning towards keeping Kehrer out for the upcoming cup final in order to get him healthy and ready to go for the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal contest against Atalanta next month.
If PSG elects to keep Kehrer out for the final, it will mean that manager Thomas Tuchel will slot Colin Daga into the starting right-back role. Dagba filled in for Kehrer in the Coupe de France final; he played in 70 minutes, which was his most minutes played in a fixture since January.
PSG likely would much rather prefer Kehrer focus on getting fit and healthy for the bout against Atalanta considering that it will already be without Angel Di Maria and possibly Kylian Mbappe.
