Report: Hoffenheim Targeting PSG Assistant Coach

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim is currently in search of a new manager and has become interested in Paris Saint-Germain assistant coach Zsolt Low, according to German-based outlet Kicker.

The report mentions Low being one of the candidates that the German-based club is looking at to possibly fill its managerial vacancy. However, no serious talks have emerged between Low and Hoffenheim’s board.

The club had Alfred Schreuder as its manager last season in what was a bumpy campaign.

The Dutch manager had the team vying for a top seven league finish and place in next season’s Europa League tournament but struggled to keep a steady hold of a spot following a streak of seven consecutive winless results over the second half of the season.

Hoffenheim subsequently sacked Schreuder and cited a “differing of opinions” between the two sides as its reason for the decision. Hoffenheim assistant coach Matthias Kaltenbach took over and helped the side finish sixth in the Bundesliga table and earn a Europa League qualification spot.

Low is very familiar not only with the Bundesliga but also with Hoffenheim. He spent three seasons there as a player and later went on to become an assistant coach for RB Leipzig over a four-year span.

The report also mentions VfB Stuttgart as a team linked with Low, but as with Hoffenheim, Low has not had any developing talks with the recently promoted German side.

While Low has no managerial experience, he does have valuable time spent with Leipzig and is currently under Thomas Tuchel with PSG.
