With Thiago Silva set to leave Paris Saint-Germain following the team’s UEFA Champions League run in August, the board could end up scouring the transfer market for a center-back. PSG is surely not going to find an available defender with the leadership and experience like Silva, but they just may be focusing on shoring up any depth concerns within its backline.
One player who PSG reportedly has an eye on is Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan N’Dicka. According to Sport Bild (via Le10Sport), Leonardo, PSG’s sporting director, and other club officials are interested in possibly seeking a deal for the 20-year-old defender. Per the report, Eintracht Frankfurt is seeking a minimum of €13 million for such a transfer. If it does not receive this kind of offer, they are more than satisfied with keeping N’Dicka, who has a contract that runs until 2023.
N’Dicka became one of Frankfurt’s most reliable defenders this past season; he totaled for 33 appearances in all competitions. The Frenchman is developing as a ball-winning defender as he posted a 1.10 tackles won per 90 rate in Bundesliga play.
For a fair price of €13 million, coupled with his potential, this could end up being a steal of a transfer if PSG wishes to proceed through with negotiations.
