PSG Expected to Hold Training Sessions in Portugal Before Champions League Quarter-Final Tie

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the UEFA Champions League knockout stage in August will be quite different. Some teams are already planning ahead for what will be a unique couple of weeks next month, including Thomas Tuchel’s Paris Saint-Germain side.

According to L’Equipe, PSG is expected to arrive in Portugal over the opening week of August to run a few training sessions before its much-anticipated quarterfinal clash against Atalanta. Benfica’s illustrious Estadio da Luz stadium will be home to the contest on Aug. 12.

Per the same L’Equipe report, PSG club officials had plans to schedule another friendly match on Aug. 5 but may prefer to opt for the training sessions instead to help the team ease off its rust between its Coupe de la Ligue final against Lyon and its Champions League quarterfinal matchup against Atalanta 12 days later.

PSG should be well-prepared for its duel against Atalanta.
