Mbappé is a Combination of Messi and Ronaldo According to Former French Footballer

We’ve never really seen an athlete like Kylian Mbappé so it’s difficult to compare him to current or past players. If you’re going to try, though, it doesn’t get much better than David Trezeguet’s comparison.

In an interview with Clarín, Trezeguet was asked if the Paris Saint-Germain superstar was the future of the game, and the former France international responded that Mbappé has qualities of two of the best players of the past decade.

“Yes, [Mbappé] is the future prototype of what football is going to be. Physically he is the prototype of what the European footballer is. Tall, thin, extreme speed, he hits with both legs, he is a mix of Cristiano [Ronaldo] and Leo [Messi] but with a technique superior to Cristiano’s with an incredible physique and it should not be forgotten that he is 20 years old. Each generation has a model to follow and just as Leo and Cristiano were from the previous one, now Mbappé is going to be the prototype of the new generation and the model to follow.”

That’s extremely high praise from Trezeguet and not that far off if you consider what Mbappé has accomplished already in his young career.

PSG know they have a special player in Mbappé and while he has two years left on his contract, it’s imperative that they do everything possible to sign him to an extension. There’s simply no replacing Mbappé regardless of the transfer fee PSG receives.

On and off the pitch, Mbappé is as good as it gets right now.
