Juninho, Olympique Lyonnais’ sporting director, recently made some comments regarding the culture of greed that Brazilian players posses. Instead of making a generic statement, the 45-year-old singled out Neymar Jr.
It didn’t take long for those comments to reach Paris Saint-Germain’s sporting director. Leonardo responded by telling his compatriot to focus on his club and squad.
A day later, the topic is still a hot one as now the president of Lyon, Jean-Michel Aulas, decided to add his two cents to the matter. Appearing on RMC Sport’s Team Duga, Aulas wanted to set the record straight on Juninho’s comments.
“He did not do it to attack PSG. He loves Neymar. He says that Neymar is probably the most talented player,” Aulas said. “But he quoted Neymar as saying that he is a great player and especially to say that Neymar may have desires elsewhere and that money did not solve everything.”
🗣💬 "Ce qu'a dit Juninho m'a bouleversé."

Aulas sounds like someone who is doing some damage control while remaining behind his sporting director. With both clubs playing in a few weeks for the Coupe de la Ligue trophy, there’s no doubt that this topic will be re-opened for clarification or additional comments.
