Gasperini Says Atalanta ‘Think About PSG A Lot’

The UEFA Champions League quarterfinal tie between Paris Saint-Germain and Atalanta is now three weeks away. For the Italian side, it will be the club’s most notable fixture in team history. With such anticipation building towards the contest, Atalanta already seems fixated on it.

In his post-game press conference on Saturday, Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini revealed (via RMC Sport) that even with several key Serie A games left on the season, the team is already eyeing its duel against PSG.

“It’s true, we think about PSG a lot,” Gasperini said. “We try to set goals for the championship and break records, but these matches prepare us for this challenge.”

The club has already set multiple team records in what has been a historic campaign. They currently sit at second in the league table, which would be its highest finish ever at Italy’s top flight. Gasperini’s side still has to play four more games — including against Inter Milan — before it can fully shift its focus towards PSG. His team surely hopes to reach the fixture healthy and in-form as they have been for much of the season thus far.
