Barcelona Can’t Afford Neymar and They Want the Media to Stop Fueling the Rumors

Earlier this week, FC Barcelona’s president Josep Maria Bartomeu revealed Neymar Jr. is unlikely to return to the club. Now, Marca is reporting that Barca wants to put an end to the constant rumors.

The Spanish publication is finally saying what many already knew, which is that the Catalan club has no money for these types of transfers. As a result, their board wants to make it crystal clear so their fanbase doesn’t continue pining for the Brazil international.

Also, it doesn’t seem that Real Madrid will have any interest in pursuing Neymar this summer either according to the report. During the transfer rumors last summer, it was reported that Los Blancos made a run at Neymar but a deal never materialized.

Perhaps this finally puts the rumors to rest and we won’t have to endure yet another summer of “Neymar to Barca” rumors from the Spanish press. I wouldn’t hold your breath though. As long as people continue to click on those articles they will continue writing them.

Barcelona has no money to buy the world’s most expensive player! That is a fact!
Neymar’s return is forbidden, no matter the price! That is another fact!
    So everyone should be happy!
