Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is at a career crossroads. He recently finished a loan stint with AS Monaco, which was his second consecutive loan move after spending the 2018-2019 campaign with AC Milan.
Bakayoko is now back with Chelsea, but teams are already lining up to show their interest in a possible deal for the midfielder.
According to Le10Sport, Bakayoko is in PSG sporting director Leonardo’s short-list. Per the report, the club views the 25-year-old as a player who could help strengthen the team.
Still, this may not come to fruition due to Bakayoko’s reported desire to return to AC Milan, per Tuttosport.
Any team that poses any interest in a possible transfer deal for Bakayoko must meet Chelsea’s €35 million transfer price, according to the same Le10Sport report. The Frenchman is currently in the midst of the five-year contract that he signed in 2017 with the Blues.
If PSG elects to go on and acquire Bakayoko, he would be a key addition to the side’s midfield rotation. He showed off his versatility with AS Monaco with stints as a defensive midfielder in the team’s 4-2-3-1 setup and as a base midfielder in a variety of formations. He made a total of 23 appearances in all competitions for the club this past season.
