Thiago Silva’s Wife Confirms Her Husband’s Departure From PSG

Earlier this week, L’Equipe reported that Paris Saint-Germain would not offer captain Thiago Silva a contract extension.

Since the report came out, both camps have been relatively silent on the matter, until now. The 35-year-old’s wife, Isabele, went on Instagram to confirm the news of her husband’s departure from Les Parisiens after eight years in Paris.

“For us too, but that’s life,” Silva said. I love you very much and thank you for these 8 years,” as she responded to the Paris Community Instagram account.

Le Parisien is adding that Silva and his family will be en route to France next week, where they will go into the 14-day quarantine before the PSG captain heads back to training on June 22.

The Brazil international and the squad will begin preparations for the resumption of the UEFA Champions League and the finals for the Coupe de France against AS Saint-Étienne and Coupe de la Ligue Olympique Lyonnais.

However, with those competitions not resuming until late July and August, the 35-year-old will have to sign a temporary extension to remain with the Ligue 1 champions while also weighing his future options.
