Report: PSG’s South Americans (and Navas) Set to Return to Paris in the Coming Weeks

Since the coronavirus pandemic began, some Paris Saint-Germain players opted to remain in Paris to spend their quarantine, but others decided that it was best to return to their home countries.

Unlike the Argentines on the squad who remained in Europe during the pandemic, Keylor Navas, Neymar Jr., Thiago Silva, Marquinhos, and Edinson Cavani all left to Central and South America, respectively.

With Paris Saint-Germain likely returning to practice later this month, it’s time for them to return to the French capital.

According to L’Equipe, June 15 is a crucial date because that is when there will be a partial opening of the French border. It’s also possible that players returning from South America after that date may have to be quarantined for 14 days to make sure they don’t show any symptoms of the coronavirus.

For the returning players, they have to decide whether they will return before June 15 or after and risk having to sit out for two weeks. Marquinhos is reportedly preparing to be the first Brazilian to return to Paris.

With Brazil being the epicenter for the coronavirus in South America, the three Brazilian players need to adhere to the rules. Hopefully, all five players return in good health as they are all essential pieces to PSG’s run in the UEFA Champions League once the competition potentially resumes in August.
