Arsenal Won’t Let Midfielder Jump Ship to Join Paris Saint-Germain

A few days ago, there was a report from L’Equipe that revealed that Arsenal FC midfielder, Matteo Guendouzi, was pushing for a transfer from the North London club.

The French publication mentioned several clubs that would be interested in the €40-million-rated Frenchman, including Atlético Madrid, FC Barcelona, Inter Milan, and Paris Saint-Germain.

Fast forward to the weekend, the Sunday Express (via ParisFans) reports that Arsenal is not looking to sell their midfielder. With the France international under contract until 2022, the English club is in no rush to sell him.

“Arsenal have had a meeting with Matteo Guendouzi about a transfer and will not let the 21-year-old leave the club this season,” wrote the British media outlet.

Guendouzi did come through the youth ranks at PSG and he would fulfill the height requirement, Leonardo, the club’s sporting director is looking for, but he’s too inconsistent for the price tag that the Gunners have put on him.

For €40 million, there are better players PSG could target or they could put that figure towards a world-class talent to pair with Marco Verratti and Idrissa Gueye.
