For weeks, Paris Saint-Germain supporters have been holding onto hope that Tanguy Kouassi would sign his first professional contract and remain with the Ligue 1 champions and turn down offers to go abroad.
According to Le Parisien, PSG fans may be in luck as Kouassi’s relatives have indicated that his wish is to stay in Paris. The French publication also revealed that RB Leipzig and AC Milan, the two clubs thought to be the most interested in signing Kouassi, are no longer being considered.
The deal is not completed yet and anything can happen until the Frenchman puts pen to paper. Le Parisien reports that Kouassi wants guarantees from the club that he will see the pitch more often in the coming seasons. During the 2019-20 season, Kouassi featured in 13 matches and scored three goals. He also became the youngest PSG player to start a UEFA Champions League match when he lined up against Galatasaray SK at the Parc des Princes.
Over the past few years, PSG has watched many of its most talented youngsters leave for more playing time elsewhere. If they can keep Kouassi, it could start a trend for those players behind him working their way up to the first team.
