Since joining Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2018, Juan Bernat’s career is seeing a revitalization. After a solid first season with FC Bayern Munich, the rest of his stint with the German club was disastrous.
In his final season with the Bavarians, the Spanish left-back received backlash for his performance against Sevilla FC in the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League from Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness.
As a result, PSG was able to obtain Bernat for around €15 million. His tenure didn’t get off on the right foot, but soon after, the Spain international began scoring crucial goals and overtaking the left-back position from Layvin Kurzawa.
Two seasons into his stint with Les Parisiens, the 27-year-old could potentially be on the move. According to Mundo Deportivo, FC Barcelona could view Bernat as an option since Jordi Alba is 31-years-old and Júnior Firpo might remain at Real Betis permanently.
With a year left on his contract and the potential arrival of Alex Telles, it will be interesting to see how far this rumor might go. Furthermore, as a Spaniard, could Bernat say no to Barca or will he give in to the lure for playing at the Camp Nou?
