Report: Alaba to Sign Extension With Bayern Munich Amid PSG Interest

If Paris Saint-Germain hoped to exact revenge on FC Bayern Munich for luring Tanguy Kouassi away from the French capital, they’ll have to look for a player other than David Alaba as he appears set to sign an extension with the German champions.

According to journalist Nicolò Schira, Bayern is in advance talks with Alaba over an extension that will keep the Austria international with the Bavarian club until 2024.

Alaba would have been a great signing for PSG. He’s a player with Champions League experience and fills a need for PSG at left-back. With Layvin Kurzawa expected to leave at the end of the season when his contract expires, PSG needs to add depth as Juan Bernat is the only natural left-back in the squad.

In addition to Alaba, PSG is reportedly interested in Lucas Hernandez who just arrived at Bayern Munich last March for €80 million. That could be a price too steep for PSG to pay but following the insult of losing Kouassi for nothing, the Ligue 1 champions may be willing to overspend to make a point.
