PSG’s Pursuit of Bayern Munich Defender Favored by French Football Pundit

Leonardo, Paris Saint-Germain’s sporting director, is looking to make a splash by bringing in brothers Lucas and Theo Hernandez.

However, considering the positional need at left-back for Les Parisiens, Lucas of FC Bayern Munich seems the more important signing of the two.

Add that Lucas is facing steep competition at that position with Alphonso Davies taking the football world by storm at the moment, the 24-year-old Frenchman could look elsewhere for consistent playing time.

With the UEFA European Championships taking place next summer, Lucas wants to play starter minutes, and at PSG, his main competitor would be Juan Bernat.

On a recent episode of RMC Sport‘s “Team Duga” show, French football pundit, Christophe Dugarry, commented on the transfer speculation explained why he favors the move.

“Hernandez at PSG? It would be a great choice. He is an excellent player who brings his grit, his desire, and his determination. I’m surprised Bayern wants to part with it,” Dugarry said. “After that, it would be a good opportunity for PSG. He’s a very good player, who’s going to bring you his grit.”

It will be interesting to see if the capital club pays at least the €80 million Bayern did when purchasing the French left-back from Atlético Madrid last summer.
