PSG x Fanatics: Why Fans Should Be Excited About New Merchandising Deal

Paris Saint-Germain supporters will soon have a new shopping experience when looking for the latest apparel from the club as the reigning Ligue 1 champions have signed a 10-year deal with Fanatics.

According to BNN Bloomberg, PSG is essentially handing over its licensing and e-commerce business to Fanatics to manage. The sports-marketing company will make the products we see in-store and on-line as well as work with Nike and Jordan Brand.

“What is special about Paris Saint-Germain is its brand ambition in fields outside football,” Fabien Allegre, the team’s brand diversification director, in a statement. “The goal is to join forces at a time when consumer habits are changing rapidly.”

We don’t know the details of the agreement between Fanatics and PSG but in the report, a spokesman for the company said that it will be its largest financial commitment they’ve ever made to a club. To get an idea of how much that might be, in 2018, Fanatics and the University of Oregon inked a deal valued at $23 million.

Fans in the United States will be well aware of Fanatics. If you’ve ever purchased NFL and NBA apparel, Fanatics probably had something to do with it arriving at your doorstep.

Ultimately, what matters most, especially to fans outside of Paris and France (like me), is will Fanatics bring the shipping cost down and I think they will. I’d also like to see more unique items offered in the online store. What’s on your wishlist for Fanatics? Let us know in the comments.
