PSG Wants €175M From Barcelona For Neymar; Not Interested in Swap Deal

Our friends in the Spanish media still aren’t tired about talking about Neymar Jr., so let’s see what they have to say now.

According to Sport, FC Barcelona has reached out to Paris Saint-Germain about the availability of Neymar (who they claim wants to return to the Camp Nou) but were told the Brazilian will set them back €175 million.

Given Barcelona’s financial issues, that figure may as well be €1 billion. The fact is, Barcelona (and no club right now to be honest) can afford to spend that amount of money due to the coronavirus.

The report also revealed that PSG will not entertain a player swap to help lower Neymar’s transfer fee. In the words of NFL Hall of Fame wide receiver Randy Moss, PSG wants “straight cash, homey.”

Any funds that Barcelona does have at their disposal will likely be used for Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez, who could cost upwards of €111 million. However, the Italian club may not be in a hurry to sell after offloading Mauro Icardi to PSG.

This could be a difficult transfer window for Barcelona. They have surrounded the aging Lionel Messi with some average players and they’re ill-equipped to make the necessary signings to replace them with.
