Liverpool Ace Still Hasn’t Signed an Extension Amid Interest From Real Madrid and PSG

Paris Saint-Germain has a lot of work to do in the transfer window but signing an attacking player isn’t necessarily one of the priorities, but Liverpool FC’s Sadio Mané could change that.

According to The Sun (🤮), the Senegal international has not told Liverpool that he intends to sign a new deal and that manager, Jürgen Klopp, is beginning to worry that he could lose his star winger.

Mané is currently under contract with the Reds until 2023, but the report revealed that Klopp would like the 28-year-old to commit the club long-term.

Complicating matters is contract negotiations with Virgil van Dijk, who is expected to receive a new five-year deal that will make him the highest-paid Liverpool player ever (€243,000 per week).

Mané’s extension is expected to pay him approximately as much as van Dijk but interest from Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain could have him thinking of taking on a new challenge away from Anfield.

The report from The Sun mentions the possibility of swap deal that would include Mané and €220 million for Mbappé. Before we get to whether or not PSG would do that deal, I’m not even sure Liverpool has that kind of money to spend especially after the financial impact of the coronavirus.

While the swap idea is nonsense, I do think that after a UEFA Champions League title and a Premier League title that Mané may be looking for a new adventure.
