Juventus Striker Tells PSG ‘No Thanks’

Last summer, when Neymar Jr. was trying to force a return to FC Barcelona, one player that was linked with Paris Saint-Germain as a possible replacement was Juventus FC’s Paulo Dybala.

According to Tuttosport (via Le10Sport), PSG reached out to Dybala’s representatives regarding a potential future move but the 26-year-old striker reportedly said, “no thanks” and prefers to remain in Turin where he is under contract until 2022.

The idea of bringing Dybala to PSG really doesn’t make sense. With Angel Di Maria, Mauro Icardi, Kylian Mbappé, and Neymar Jr., where would Dybala play?

Then there’s the expense. Transfermarkt puts the Argentine’s value at €72 million, which could be out of PSG’s range due to the loss of revenue due to the coronavirus.

Let’s also not forget the rights issues that come with Dybala. He sold the rights to his image to a Maltese company, per 90 Min, and it has been a major roadblock when it comes to negotiating a move away from Serie A.

When you consider expense and image rights, I think it’s safe to say that if PSG fans see Dybala at the Parc des Princes, it will be as an opponent only.
