Former PSG Defender Attempting to Recruit Silva to Arsenal

It turns out that Arsenal FC’s David Luiz might actually be useful at something at this stage in his career.

According to Le10Sport, Arsenal is interested in signing Thiago Silva, who will leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of August when the UEFA Champions League concludes.

Anyone who has watched the Gunners this season knows they are in desperate need of defensive help and even at 35-years-old, Silva is a massive upgrade over anyone Mikel Arteta currently has at his disposal.

If a deal is to be completed between Arsenal and Silva, Luiz should receive a lot of credit as the report reveals that the former PSG defender acted as an intermediary to get his compatriot to North London.

Luiz recently signed a one-year deal with Arsenal and if Silva arrives, the two will be reunited for the first time in club football since the 2015-16 season.

In addition to Arsenal, Silva’s former manager, Carlo Ancelotti, is reportedly interested in bringing the center-back to Everton FC where they could use some defensive help as well.

For now, Silva will have to set these offers to the side as the team is currently preparing to resume action on the pitch with a series of several friendlies, two domestic cup finals, and then the Champions League.
