Paris Saint-Germain is on the hunt for a quality midfielder to add to the squad for next season and their pursuit has led them across Europe with several notable names making it into the transfer rumor mill, including AC Milan’s Ismaël Bennacer.
According to FootMercato, PSG continues to be interested in signing Bennacer and they quote a release clause of €50 million (verified by MilanNews.it).
Last month, it was reported that PSG had a bid of €30 million turned down for the Algeria international.
If Leonardo, PSG’s sporting director, wants to sign the 22-year-old midfielder, he may need to act quickly and decisively as Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, reportedly called Bennacer recently to convince him to join the Premier League side.
Bennacer is under contract until 2024 and during a recent interview with Milan’s social media team, he stated that he wants to “win everything with Milan.” It’s possible he really means that but we know that in football money talks and the opportunity to play in the UEFA Champions League with Kylian Mbappé and Neymar Jr. may be too enticing to pass up.
