The players will resume training this week after a three-month layoff due to the coronavirus crisis but it will take time for the players to get back up to speed.
We know that the Coupe de France final against AS Saint-Étienne will be played on July 24, and the Coupe de la Ligue final against Olympique Lyonnais on July 31, however, the club is looking to play a few friendlies to get the players back into the rhythm of the game.
According to L’Equipe, PSG plans to organize a friendly against the U-19 team on July 9, and another against Le Havre (Ligue 2) on July 11 or 12.
The French publication also revealed that PSG is in discussions with Anderlecht and Celtic over potential friendly matches. Like Les Parisiens, those two clubs also saw their domestic leagues shutter prematurely due to the coronavirus.
In total, PSG could expect to play approximately four friendlies before the gauntlet starts at the end of July and ramps up in August with the resumption of the UEFA Champions League.
