Remarkably, Jesé is still a Paris Saint-Germain player and still has a year left on his contract.
The 27-year-old forward spent the past season with Sporting CP on loan and it didn’t take long for the Portuguese side to wish they could return Jesé to Paris.
This season, Jesé played one minute in a PSG shirt, which was enough to earn him a Ligue 1 title, and according to teammate Ander Herrera, he could return to collect additional silverware later this summer.
During an appearance on the Spanish talk show La Resistencia, Herrera mentioned his compatriot and updated fans on his status.
“Today [Jesé] is much more focused on football and has good football qualities. But he had a serious injury and it takes time to recover.”
“He must come back. Next week we are coming back to Paris and normally he has to come back.”
PSG players will report back to training on Monday, June 22, and from Herrera’s comments, we can expect to see Jesé trotting around the pitch.
The best-case scenario for PSG would be to sell Jesé once the transfer window opens but they can forget about recouping any of the €25 million they paid Real Madrid in 2016 for him. Transfermarkt puts his market value at €3.2 million and I think PSG would be lucky to be offered that.
