Thiago Silva is one of the best and most decorated defenders in world football. While he currently captains Paris Saint-Germain and plays his home games at the iconic Parc des Princes, his rise to fame and fortune began on the streets of Brazil.
“From the Streets” documents Silva’s humble beginnings where he played football in his bare feet and was even turned away at trials with teams as a youngster.
Through perseverance and with the encouragement of his step-father, Silva was accepted to a school where he could further his development. The PSG captain tells the story of traveling by bus to the school and the terrible food that he at just so he could be strong enough to train.
The video is a great reminder of what it takes to become a professional footballer and the sacrifices that players have to make even at a young age.
