As Thiago Silva’s contract nears its end and speculation of a possible extension is a potential reality for the Paris Saint-Germain captain, his wife, Isabelle Silva, spoke to Le Parisian.
Many already know that Silva’s family decided to spend their quarantine in their native Brazil rather than remaining in France like other teammates and their families have done.
Nonetheless, despite being in their homeland, she states that they do miss being in France as they became French citizens last year.
“Yes, I miss France very much. We never imagined it would last so long. Paris is our home,” Silva said. “We have become French citizens. We love this country and its people for real.”
Then came the information surrounding the future of Thiago Silva with PSG and what her husband would like to occur. Furthermore, she adds what she would like to see an agreement between both sides, considering the attachment the family has to Paris.
“Thiago is very attached to PSG, to supporters, to France … Whether the adventure continues or not at PSG, we will have to go back to Paris to see our friends again,” Silva said. “But for us, it would be great to continue at PSG; we love the club, the city, France. This is where the children grew up. We would like to continue our careers in Paris.”
There was a report last month that both sides were in the beginning stages of an extension. Also, Silva’s agent, Paulo Tonietto, is hopeful a deal can be agreed to for next season.
It seems that everyone in the 35-year-old’s camp wants to remain in Paris, and so does the club. Perhaps the main hurdle for the deal to go through will be the financial aspect and the term.
