‘They Have No Money to Invest in Mbappé and Neymar’ – A Dose of Reality for Barcelona and Real Madrid

Every transfer window that comes up, Paris Saint-Germain deals with the transfer “rumors” of a potential departure of either Neymar Jr., Mbappé, or both.

A source close to the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, has gone on record to say that “Come wind, snow or rain, Mbappé will stay” with PSG.

Furthermore, it seems that Leandro Paredes, who officially has become Neymar’s bodyguard on the pitch, believes that the Brazilian will continue his stay with Les Parisians.

However, even when this information, rumors continue to surface. Even our own founder, Ed, is offering up potential swap deals like this one that would send Mbappé to Liverpool for Trent Alexander-Arnold!

Despite all these rumors, French football pundit Pierre Ménès said on the Canal Football Club Twitter account (via Paris Team) that no one can afford these two players, not even Real Madrid or FC Barcelona.

“The clubs lost a lot of money. Even if Real and Barça had no money before the COVID crisis. Real spent 350 million euros in the last transfer window. Bewildered people who think they have a secret kitty,” Ménès said. “They want to rebuild their stadium; it will cost them money. So they have no money to invest in Mbappé and Neymar. Neymar at Barça, it’s impossible, because Barça has no money.”

To round out his conversation, the pundit had some not so kind words on the future of striker Edinson Cavani.

“As for Cavani, he is realizing that if he wants to make a lot of money, PSG is the place to stay,” Ménès said. “Never been a fan of Cavani, let alone in two years, it is very markedly down. I think it would be a bad idea for PSG to keep Cavani. You can’t run a club only with feelings.”
