Report: PSG Ready to Make €15M Offer for San Lorenzo Striker

Due to the possibility of Edinson Cavani and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting departing Paris Saint-Germain with their contracts expiring once the 2019-20 season concludes and Mauro Icardi staying permanently, the capital club will be in the market for a backup striker.

There are two routes that Les Parisiens could take to fulfill the role: a veteran that’s comfortable playing as a backup or a young player with a higher upside that’s trying to find his footing in European football.

According to Argentinian media outlet Depo (via ParisFans), PSG is ready to offer €15 million to purchase Adolfo Gaich from San Lorenzo de Almagro.

“As the echoes of a Bruges interest continue, another club arises with the desire to recruit the jewel of San Lorenzo. It is the PSG, declared champion of France during the decree of Ligue 1 2019-2020,” Depo reports. “In addition to keeping Mauro Icardi, the Paris club wants to bet on the young Argentinian and would be ready to offer more than 15 million euros.”

Foot Mercato revealed information over a possible interest from PSG a few days ago, and now there’s reported talk over money potentially exchanging hands.

If Gaich is indeed the target for the backup role, it suggests that capital club sporting director Leonardo is all in on Icardi. As a result, the Brazilian wants a young backup with potential rather than keeping a veteran presence like Cavani or Choupo-Moting.
