Report: PSG Interested in Replacing Meunier With Atalanta Right-Back

Despite Thomas Meunier making it clear that he’d like to remain with Paris Saint-Germain, it doesn’t seem like it’s a two-way street, and the capital club would like to move on from the 28-year-old.

Now, when it comes to a replacement, the only name that consistently comes up through various reports is Lazio’s Adam Marušić.

However, with the Italian club likely qualifying for next season’s UEFA Champions League and a reported €20 million tag on the Montenegro international, Les Parisiens could bring a better quality right-back for that price.

As a result, it looks as though PSG sporting director, Leonardo, might be looking at another Belgium defender to replace Meunier. According to Le10Sport, the capital club could be taking a look at Atalanta BC right-back Timothy Castagne.

The 24-year-old currently has a transfer value of €16 million per Transfermarkt, and the price could go higher if La Dea, who now occupies fourth place in Serie A, qualifies for the Champions League.

Castagne plays in Serie A, and it’s one of the leagues that Leonardo enjoys poaching talent from, so there could be some smoke to the rumor.
