Report: PSG Considered Allowing Barcelona to Pay For Neymar in Installments

Even those who don’t follow football closely know that FC Barcelona desperately wants to bring Neymar Jr. back to the Camp Nou after he left in 2017 for Paris Saint-Germain.

It’s a story that has been going on almost since Neymar left in 2017 and really heated up last summer when it was reported that he even offered to pay part of his own transfer fee.

The deal ultimately fell through and Neymar returned to PSG where he put in an exceptional performance this season, which has already seen the capital club win a shortened Ligue 1 season and reach the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League for the first time since 2016.

As good as the 28-year-old has been, PSG is reportedly willing to sell him for €150 million and according to L’Equipe, they were even considering a payment plan that would allow Barcelona to pay Neymar’s transfer fee in installments if they made a substantial offer. However, given Barcelona’s financial situation, they’re not able to come anywhere close to what it would cost to sign Neymar.

So, it appears that not only will Kylian Mbappé be staying in the French capital for another season, so will Neymar. That will give PSG additional time to try and sign both to contract extensions and avoid a drama-filled summer transfer window in 2021 as both players would be entering the final year of their contracts.
