Paris Saint-Germain executives are in advanced discussions with Inter Milan over a transfer fee for Mauro Icardi to turn his season-long loan into a permanent stay. With that deal expected to be finalized in the coming days, Edinson Cavani will almost certainly be looking for a new club.
Cavani’s contract expires on June 30, and with no extension offered and Icardi clearly being favored, PSG’s all-time leading scorer will be on the move this summer. In fact, he was almost sold last January to Atlético Madrid before that deal fell through.
Where Cavani will land has been constant transfer fodder in recent weeks with everyone from Napoli to Manchester United to Boca Juniors rumored to be interested in the 33-year-old striker.
While much is unknown about his future team, journalist Ignazio Genuardi tweeted several teams and even destinations that Cavani has reportedly scratched off his lists.
L’Uruguayen a d’ores et déjà repoussé des avances en provenance de Chine, du Qatar ou encore de MLS. Priorité à l’Europe, avec l’Atlético Madrid pour concurrencer les Nerazzurri, notamment.

According to Genuardi, Cavani does not favor a move to Newcastle United FC or Galatasaray SK. El Matador has also turned down a move to China, Qatar, and Major League Soccer.
Genuardi confirms that Cavani wants to remain in Europe where Inter Milan has reportedly offered him a three-year deal or revisit the Atléti tract.
