We can go ahead and cross Sergej Milinković-Savić off the list of potential Paris Saint-Germain transfer targets this summer as the midfielder has reportedly signed an extension with Lazio.
Earlier this month, the Serbia international was thought to have signed an extension that would keep him in Rome until June 2024. That report has been confirmed today by Corriere dello Sport, dashing any hope PSG may have had in signing Milinković-Savić to bolster their midfield.
Along with PSG, Manchester United and Real Madrid were also rumored to be interested in signing Milinković-Savić but unless one of these European giants makes a sensational offer this summer, which is unlikely due to the financial impact of the coronavirus, the 25-year-old will remain in Rome for now at least.
Milinković-Savić would have been a dream signing but there are still plenty of options out there for Leonardo, PSG’s sporting director, to target. AS Roma’s Lorenzo Pellegrini is one option and AC Milan’s Ismaël Bennacer is another. As we get closer to the opening of the transfer window, which has yet to be determined, more names will likely be linked with a move to the French capital.
