When it comes to FC Barcelona being interested in a Paris Saint-Germain player, it’s usually Neymar Jr. However, one new name that the Catalan club is reportedly monitoring is Juan Bernat, according to Sport (via Culture PSG).
After flaming out at FC Bayern Munich, Bernat’s career is receiving a second lease on his career since arriving at the Parc des Princes.
The 27-year-old is far from perfect but after a rocky start to life in Paris, the Spain international has come up clutch by scoring crucial goals in the UEFA Champions League.
With Jordi Alba getting up there in age (for a footballer at least) at 31, Barcelona is looking for a replacement, and Bernat fits that need.
Furthermore, Bernat is under contract until 2021 and with international tournaments like the UEFA European Championship next summer and FIFA World Cup in 2022 fast approaching, Bernat will want to play for whichever club guarantees him the most minutes.
Also, with PSG having an interest in Alex Telles, Bernat might reconsider extending his contract and bolt for Barcelona or Juventus FC, who is also monitoring the situation.
