Achraf Hakimi is currently on loan at Borussia Dortmund but he’s expected to return to Real Madrid where he hopes to impress Zinedine Zidane and win the starting right-back position heading into next season.
Paris Saint-Germain got a very good look at the Morocco international as the French giants took on Dortmund in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League. French football commentator Pierre Ménès saw enough, too and he believes PSG will prioritize signing the 21-year-old defender.
“You have to change the sides. I think [Thomas] Meunier and [Layvin] Kurzawa can and should leave,” Ménès said on Canal Football Club (via But Football Club). “Now, I think that PSG has more to invest in Achraf Hakimi than Kalidou Koulibaly. We are also talking about Alex Telles.
It’s true that Meunier and Kurzawa are more than likely on their way out of the club and won’t be in PSG colors next season and Telles is close to a done deal. The glaring issue for PSG right now is the right-back position with only Colin Dagba and Thilo Kehrer currently on the depth chart.
Hakimi won’t come cheap and that’s if Real Madrid is even willing to sell him at all. Transfermarkt puts his value at €54 million but I would imagine Los Blancos would want well over €60 million for him considering his age, upside, and the fact he’s under contract for two more years. It’s possible Real Madrid would entertain an offer if they thought that it would put them in PSG’s good graces heading into the summer of 2021 when they’ll want to sign Kylian Mbappé.
