Paris Saint-Germain supporters were greeted with the wonderful news that a deal for FC Porto’s Alex Telles had been agreed upon and the Brazilian would be at the Parc des Princes for the 2020-21 season.
The report from A Bola revealed that the deal for Telles had “been closed in the last few hours” but that it wouldn’t be official until the end of the season, which would be in August when the UEFA Champions League and Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue finals have been played.
The Portuguese publication quoted a transfer fee of approximately €25 million being paid by PSG to Porto for the 27-year-old.
Considering the caliber of teams chasing Telles (Chelsea FC and Juventus FC), potentially signing him for below market value is a massive win for the Ligue 1 champions.
The news may be too good to be true and as Le Parisien somewhat splashed cold water on PSG fans to snap them back to reality.
According to the French publication, a source close to the situation is quoted as saying, “At the moment, no big transfer is coming to an end. Everyone is in the dark.”
So, we’re back where we started. There’s definitely interest between Telles and PSG but nothing is certain in these uncertain times.
