There are no Norwegian players currently on Paris Saint-Germain’s roster but that could change according to a recent report out of Spain.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid are hot on the trail of Celtic FC center-back Kristoffer Ajer who they hope to pair with Raphaël Varane who is expected to leave the club when his contract expires next summer.
Real Madrid could face competition for the signature of the 6’5″ Norwegian. The report from MD mentions PSG as a possible destination, which makes sense since Thiago Silva is out of contract at the end of the season. Manchester City and Leicester City FC are two other clubs that could make a move for the 22-year-old according to the report.
We know that Leonardo, PSG’s sporting director, is in search of a tall midfielder this offseason and Ajer can play as a defensive midfielder, but I just don’t see the Ligue 1 champions being a serious player here.
There are plenty of other better center-backs available, like Lille OSC’s Gabriel Magalhães, and in midfield, I would even prefer Tiemoué Bakayoko.
