PSG Close In On €20M Deal For Former Chelsea Transfer Target

Paris Saint-Germain has been a mainstay in the transfer rumor mill for weeks and while it’s fun to dream about potential players joining the club, only one name appears close to joining the Ligue 1 champions.

Last month, it was reported that FC Porto’s Alex Telles was on the verge of signing for the French giants but we haven’t heard much since as there’s no date set for when the summer transfer window will open.

According to Le Parisien though, Leonardo, PSG’s sporting director, continues to track Telles and a more concrete agreement could be reported quickly. The French publication believes a deal for Telles will cost Paris approximately €20 million.

Along with PSG, Chelsea FC was reportedly interested in signing the Brazilian but unless there’s a drastic reversal, Telles will choose the French capital over London.

It’s a positive development considering Layvin Kurzawa will leave PSG at the end of the season when his contract expires and PSG desperately needs reinforcements at left-back. Without the Frenchman, PSG really only has Bernat and Abdou Diallo who can fill in at times but is more of a natural center-back.

Telles for €20 million is brilliant business from Leonardo and if it’s a sign of things to come, I’m very much looking forward to the offseason.
