After being named Ligue 1 champions and sending out a cryptic message on Twitter, Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé spoke with BeIN Sports.
One of the first questions that the media outlet brings up to the France international is the players that he idolized growing up. The photo of a young Mbappé with Cristiano Ronaldo posters all over his room is one many have seen.
It’s led to plenty of Real Madrid supporters believing that one day the 21-year-old will suit up for Los Blancos. However, Mbappé explains that he has other players that he grew up idolizing, including his current teammate, Neymar Jr.
“I had quite a few idols, Cristiano a lot. I was born at that time, with Cristiano and Messi,” Mbappé said. “I also had the chance to play with Neymar, which I greatly admired when I was young.”
The interview concludes with Mbappé telling BeIN Sports his favorite goal so far in his young career, which was a no-brainer for him as he chose the one he scored at the FIFA World Cup Final versus Croatia.
“I would say the goal against Croatia, in the final of the World Cup. Because it is the most important that I have marked so far,” Mbappé said. “Choosing from those I marked is not easy, I don’t remember all of them. I always do in relation to the context, the issue, the opponent, so I will say that one.”
Hopefully, Mbappé can add a UEFA Champions League final goal for Paris Saint-Germain in the near future.
